Life has made some adjustments for me for the past six years, since the medical evolution of therapies/treatments have alleviated some symptoms of PCOS. I was a diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome or PCOS, as a young adult, When my medical team diagnosed me, there was less known about PCOS, or the treatment of it. The discomfort I have felt in my most intimate areas degraded my outlook to view myself to the world, starting with what I should eat or wear in public. Another relapse might trigger an alert of how I could resolve any onset of PCOS symptoms throughout what might happen in my involvement of social activities. The blood, sweat and tears I have shed as a blessed woman with PCOS, not only demonstrates the need to fight for the mutual sisterhood in femininity, but to exude confidence in myself and other females living with a risk of an outward mark of frustration hitting us internally because of the onslaught of symptoms that we face as women, with PCOS and/or because of our physique. The symptoms from PCOS does not define that I am a woman, a recent post-partum mom (shout-out to my natural born son),a wife, a daughter, an auntie, a sister, a cousin, an accessorizer, an advocate & caregiver to many, a facilitator, a lead educator for youth...or any other position assigned to my genotype as a short, well-endowed power gatherer. As facilitations accessorizer and CEO of Ekklesia Beauty, I want to leave you the impression that helping others does uplift souls to recognize their beauty as an augmented imprint of fashion upon one another for change for the better, and not for bitter. A donation from the net proceeds of Ekklesia Beauty total sales gets deducted into a fund for PCOS support groups.
